Cancellation policy

Upon receipt of a written cancellation, a refund fee minus CHF 50 administrative fee, will be applied up to 8 weeks before the course. After this date no refund will be made for cancellations.

Course content


Target audience

 

This course is aimed at doctors involved in the management of difficult airways and the extraction of foreign bodies from the airways of children. Advanced intubation skills are recommended.

  • Pediatric intensivists (incl. neonatologists)
  • Pediatric anesthesiologists
  • Pediatric pulmonologists
  • others


The course does not include training in broncho-alveolar lavage,

transbronchial needle aspiration or transbronchial biopsies.

Course content

 

Flexible bronchoscopy

  • Handling, anatomy and navigation
  • Indications in the PICU and NICU
  • Indications in pediatric anesthesia
  • Fiberoptic intubation (mask, LMA)
  • Selective intubation, endobronchial blocker placement
  • Sedation and anesthesia

 

Rigid bronchoscopy

  • Correct handling und learning of the rigid instrumentarium
  • Endotracheal intubation with the bronchoscope / telescope
  • Navigation in the tracheobronchial tree
  • Foreign body extraction
  • Anesthesia and peri-interventional management


Equipment


We deliberatly abstain from using living animals for training. We use specially-designed phantoms.
